Meanwhile, protests at Jadavpur University continued for the third consecutive day on Wednesday, with students demanding action against alleged assaults on their peers and had set a 4 pm deadline for vice-chancellor Bhaskar Gupta to address their grievances. Gupta has been hospitalized today.<\/p>\n<p><!--\/article_liveblog.cms?msid=105115637&pos=toppotime:74-->\u201cI direct the State to prepare a comprehensive report in respect of the series of events which took place on the date wherein there are versions and counter-versions of the petitioners and the added private respondents,\u201d the court observed in its order.<\/p>\n<p>The bench of Justice Tirthankar Ghosh said that the comprehensive report must be filed on the date of next hearing on March 12.<\/p>\n<p>The court asked police to treat injured student Indranuj Ray&#8217;s complaint as an FIR. Indranuj, who received grievous eye injuries, and is recuperating in the hospital, had sent a mail and complained about the incident on March 2.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI find that one of the injured has communicated through e-mail to the Officer-in-Charge, Jadavpur Police Station. Learned Advocate General submits that police authorities would act on the email of 2nd March, 2025 submitted by one Indranuj Roy who has suffered injuries and addressed to the Officer, Jadavpur Police Station requesting him for lodging an FIR,\u201d Justice Ghosh said.<\/p>\n<p><!--\/include_growfast.cms?pagename=article&skipcss=1potime:1--><br \/>The court observed that the \u201cPetitioners have approached this Court being aggrieved by the inaction of the police authorities.\u201dVeteran advocate Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharyya is fighting the case for the students of the Jadavpur University. \u201cMr. Bhattacharyya, learned senior advocate appearing for the petitioners has drawn the attention of the Court to various FIRs which have been registered, but the version of the students, according to the learned senior advocate, has not been taken into consideration, although injuries have been suffered by the students,\u201d the court observed.Stating that the court is concerned whether there was any intelligence failure on the part of the police on the day of agitation. Justice Ghosh observed he does not want people coming too close to a constitutional authority as in the \u201cneighbouring country\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Justice Ghosh asked whether the intelligence informed the state minister about the agitation which was going take place at the varsity during his visit.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Seven FIRs were lodged but all were from the state&#8217;s side. The Court asked about the FIR from the petitioner\u2019s side. The court also noted that the state should behave like &#8220;state&#8221; and questioned the role of intelligence when the state minister was coming to the campus,&#8221; advocate said. <\/p>\n<p>The Court questioned the role of Intelligence and pulled up Kolkata Police. \u201cHow could such a large group of students gather around the minister\u2019s convoy?
