They also can\u2019t hold an elective office, or canvass for candidates either.The draft rules are \u201cproposed to be introduced, in line with those already existing in other similarly placed organizations, to ensure confidentiality in the Commission and to set high standards of ethics among the employees\u201d, the regulator said in a statement.Given that its employees deal with confidential and commercially sensitive information received from various parties, high level of confidentiality in handling such matters is required of them, the regulator said, justifying its proposal to introduce the <a ref=\"dofollow\" data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/topic\/code-of-conduct\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">code of conduct<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Stakeholders can submit their comments on the draft rules until April 6, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Among other stipulations, the regulator has proposed that an employee can take up commercial employment within one year of their retirement only with its prior approval in writing.<\/p>\n<p>The regulator also wants employees to avoid accepting \u201clavish\u201d or \u201cfrequent hospitality\u201d or gifts from anyone having official dealings with them or with the Commission, subject to conditions.<br \/><!--\/article_liveblog.cms?msid=105115637&pos=botpotime:1--><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/news\/india\/cci-proposes-curbs-on-employees-stock-investments-unveils-code-of-conduct\/articleshow\/118791327.cms\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Competition Commission of India (CCI) on Friday proposed to curb investments by its employees in certain commodity and equity instruments, as it unveiled draft rules on their conduct.
