After a lull of some days violence once again took place in Manipur<\/a>. Three people were injured in the incident in Heirok<\/a> of Thoubal District and Tengnoupal<\/a> district and also along Pallel of Kakching District.<\/p>\n

There was firing between the two groups of Heirok and Tengnoupal since last evening and is reportedly continuing.<\/p>\n

Sources said that three people in Heirok sustained injuries. Later Irate Village Volunteers<\/a> and the public of Heirok retaliated against the arm miscreants.<\/p>\n

On Friday huge numbers of Village Volunteers and public of Heirok climb the hills and start pushing back those arm Miscreant of the hills. Heavy Cross<\/a> firing broke out in which another village Volunteers of Heirok sustained Injury.<\/p>\n

Sources added that combined teams of security forces including Manipur Police, Commandos rushed to the spot. Tension also erupted near Pallel, after some arm miscreants burnt down a Sawmill.<\/p>\n

Security forces conducted a search operation in which three individuals with four numbers of arms and ammunition were apprehended.At least 220 people have been killed, 1,500 injured and 60,000 displaced after the ethnic violence between the Meitei and Kuki-Zomi community broke out on May 3 last year.The riots began after a \u2018Tribal Solidarity<\/a> March\u2019 was organised in the hill districts to protest the Meitei community\u2019s demand for Scheduled Tribe status.<\/p>\n

Manipur has two Lok Sabha seats — Inner Manipur and Outer Manipur (reserved for tribals).<\/p>\n

Polling would be held in the Inner Manipur parliamentary constituency in the first phase of polling on April 19, and Outer Manipur would go to polls in two phases \u2013 April 19 and April 26. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
