At least 12 people have been injured in a shooting in Toronto, police have said.<\/p>\n

Four of the victims have non-life-threatening injuries – but the extent of the injuries for the others was unknown at this time, officers said.<\/p>\n

Toronto police said the suspect was “wearing a black balaclava,” was seen “fleeing in [a] silver car” and is still at large.<\/p>\n

They said they were called to reports of a shooting at a pub in Scarborough, a district of Toronto, at around 10.39pm local time.<\/p>\n

Officers are urging people to avoid the scene at Progress Ave and Corporate Drive.<\/p>\n

Toronto paramedics told Canada’s CP24 Media it was a “dynamic situation” and that the injuries ranged from minor to critical.<\/p>\n

Olivia Chow, mayor of Toronto, said on social media: “I am deeply troubled to hear reports of a shooting at a pub in Scarborough.<\/p>\n

“I have spoken to (Toronto Police Chief Myron) Demkiw and he has assured me all necessary resources have been deployed. This is an early and ongoing investigation – police will provide further details.<\/p>\n

“My thoughts are with the victims and their families.”<\/p>\n
