The Metropolitan Police has launched an investigation into suspended Reform UK MP Rupert Lowe over an allegation of “verbal threats”. <\/p>\n

Reform reported the Great Yarmouth MP to police on 6 March over alleged threats of physical violence against the party’s chairman Zia Yusuf.<\/p>\n

Lowe denies the claims.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for the Met Police said the force had launched an investigation “into an allegation of a series of verbal threats made by a 67-year-old man”.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Met Police added: “Our original statement referred to alleged threats made in December 2024. <\/p>\n

“We would like to clarify that when this matter was reported to us it referred to a series of alleged threats made between December 2024 and February 2025.<\/p>\n

“Further enquiries are ongoing at this stage.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Lowe is also accused of workplace bullying, with the MP claiming the allegations are politically motivated.<\/p>\n

Lowe has previously said the accusations and suspension were retaliation for his criticism of Reform’s leader Nigel Farage in a newspaper interview.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
