The district administration has clamped prohibitory orders in the district.<\/p>\n<p><!--\/dynamic_link.cms?msid=107107653&subsecid=1715249553&pos=toppotime:1-->&#8220;Reports have been received from the Superintendent of Police, Churachandpur, indicating a serious apprehension of a breach of law and order in the district, which is likely to disturb peace and tranquillity among different communities and may lead to damage to life and public property,&#8221; the prohibitory order stated. The order prohibited unauthorised processions or unlawful assemblies of five or more persons. It also banned the carrying of arms.<\/p>\n<p>A senior police officer said there was stone pelting in some areas. Protesters have been trying to enforce a shutdown in the town, urging shops to close immediately. Group of people with sticks were patrolling the streets.<\/p>\n<p> Hmar Inpui, the apex tribal body of the Hmar community, stated it was shocked over the brutal attack on its general secretary, <a ref=\"dofollow\" data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/topic\/richard-laltanpuia-hmar\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Richard Laltanpuia Hmar<\/a> around 7.30pm on Sunday. He was caught by a group of men while on his way home, blindfolded and incessantly beaten inside a school campus despite him revealing his identity.
