The flight\u2019s destination was La Ceiba, a nearby city on the country\u2019s northern coast, the agency said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">The national police later <a class=\"css-yywogo\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/PoliciaNacionaldeHonduras\/videos\/565849983175556\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">said on social media<\/a> that 12 people aboard had died and five had survived. It said that the body of one of those killed was still missing, and that recovery efforts continued at the crash site.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">The cause of the crash was not immediately clear on Tuesday morning.
