The ruling could halt the group\u2019s plans to release new songs, organize its own appearances and sign independent advertising deals.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">The five members of NewJeans announced their split from Ador last November, accusing the label of mistreatment, and have since renamed the group NJZ. In response, Ador filed a lawsuit to assert its contract rights over the group.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">NewJeans said it will challenge the court decision, insisting that the label continued to treat the group unfairly and unequally.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<aside class=\"css-ew4tgv\" aria-label=\"companion column\"\/><\/div>\n<div data-testid=\"companionColumn-1\">\n<div class=\"css-53u6y8\">\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">\u201cWe believe that the decision did not fully take into account the complete breakdown of trust the members have experienced toward Ador,\u201d NJZ said in a statement. \u201cWe did not have sufficient opportunity to fully present the factual background to the court.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">Ador, which disputes the group\u2019s claims of mistreatment, welcomed what it called the court\u2019s decision to \u201cconfirm its status as the exclusive management agency of the NewJeans members.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">\u201cWith our status as NewJeans\u2019 exclusive agency now legally affirmed, we are fully committed to supporting the artists going forward,\u201d it said in a statement. \u201cWe eagerly anticipate meeting with the artists for a heartfelt conversation at the earliest opportunity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">Both Ador and NewJeans confirmed that the group will participate in the ComplexCon festival in Hong Kong this weekend.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">NewJeans and Ador have been embroiled in a dramatic feud that has mesmerized its fans since August 2024. The dispute is centered on <a class=\"css-yywogo\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/05\/12\/world\/asia\/newjeans-kpop-controversy-hybe.html\" title=\"\">Min Hee-Jin, the girl group\u2019s executive producer<\/a>. Hybe, the parent company of Ador, replaced Ms. Min as Ador\u2019s chief executive last year. NewJeans members went public with their demand for Ms. Min\u2019s reinstatement.
