Investigators probing the shootout outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan<\/a>‘s residence early Sunday morning suspect that the accused may have carried out a recce of the area earlier.<\/p>\n

While the Mumbai police have registered a case of attempt to murder against unknown shooters, multiple agencies like the ATS and the NIA are looking into the involvement of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The actor and his family, whom the police are providing a security cover, have in the past received threats from the gang. Bishnoi, who is in jail, and wanted gangster Goldy Brar<\/a> have issued them death threats in the past.<\/p>\n

According to sources, two persons arrived on a bike outside Khan’s residence in Bandra’s Galaxy Apartment and fired six shots, including one on the wall of the complex and two at his balcony.<\/p>\n

The shooters then abandoned the bike a few meters from his residence near Mount Mary church and took an autorickshaw. An officer said they are believed to have fled by a train, adding, “The shooters have been captured in CCTV footages at the Bandra railway station.”<\/p>\n

Two youth wearing backpacks and seemingly in their early 20s are seen in the footage. While one shooter is seen wearing blue denims and a jacket, the other one is seen wearing a black denims and a maroon T-shirt. Both are seen wearing caps and sport shoes.In March 2023, following a threat mail, the actor’s manager had lodged a complaint with the Mumbai police against Bishnoi and Goldy Brar, his associate.In a Facebook post around 11.30 am, Bishnoi’s brother Anmol claimed responsibility for the incident. “We want peace. If the only decision against oppression is war, then so be it. Salman Khan, we have only shown you a trailer so that you understand the magnitude of our strength and do not test it. This is the first and last warning. After this, shots will not be fired outside the house only. And we have dogs named after Dawood Ibrahim<\/a> and Chota Shakeel<\/a>, whom you consider to be Gods. Now, I don’t have the habit of talking much,” the post read. Anmol alias Bhanu is wanted by central agencies and suspected to be hiding in Canada after escaping India on a fake passport.<\/div>\n
