It targeted only military sites and advertised the attack in advance \u2014 which analysts described as an effort to avoid casualties. Iran has also signaled that it would not strike further unless attacked.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">Now, the focus is on Israel. The <a class=\"css-yywogo\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/04\/14\/world\/middleeast\/iran-strikes-israel-analysis.html\" title=\"\">strikes shook its assumptions about Iran<\/a>, undermining its long-held calculation that its foe would be best deterred by greater Israeli aggression.
