His grit and determination earned praise from the team coach, who highlighted his “desire to play” and his impactful knock.
“I want to mention about this… he had a cut on his finger, and there was a chance he could have missed out on the game. I had a chat with him two days prior to the game when he had that cut. I asked how are you feeling, will you play, and he said quite clearly, ‘I am playing the game. I want to be in the middle.’ There’s one thing to speak of being in the middle and the desire to play. But to go in there to bat the way you batted\u201415 off 15 at one stage to 61 off 31, finishing off the game in style. Congratulations,” Delhi Capitals coach Hemang Badani said in a video shared by Delhi Capitals on social media.<\/p>\n

His final partnership with Mohit proved decisive in securing a memorable win at Vizag.
His unbeaten 66 off 31 balls, featuring five fours and six sixes, is the second-highest score by a batter at number seven or below during a successful IPL chase. <\/p>\n

He equaled Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) Andre Russell, who hit 66* in a 2015 chase against Punjab. <\/p>\n
