NEW DELHI: New Zealand’s 21-year-old right-hand batter Muhammad Abbas made history on Saturday, smashing the fastest-ever fifty on ODI debut during the first match of the three-match series against Pakistan at McLean Park in Napier.
The Lahore-born cricketer reached his half-century in just 24 balls, breaking the previous record held by India’s Krunal Pandya, who achieved the feat in 26 balls against England in 2021.

Abbas displayed remarkable intent, finishing his innings with 52 off 26 balls at an explosive strike rate of 200. His knock featured three fours and three sixes, providing New Zealand with the late fireworks in the match. <\/p>\n
