Nokia confirmed that it had signed a patent agreement with Amazon, which covers the use of Nokia\u2019s video technologies in Amazon&#8217;s streaming services and devices. <br \/>The agreement resolves all ongoing litigation between the two companies, but the details of the settlement will remain confidential, according to news agency AFP. <br \/>Nokia initially filed lawsuits against Amazon in October 2023, accusing the company of violating its patents across five global jurisdictions: the UK, the European Union&#8217;s patent court, Germany, India, and the United States. <br \/>The claims were related to Amazon\u2019s Prime Video service and other devices, specifically involving patents for &#8220;video compression, content delivery, content recommendation, and aspects related to hardware.&#8221;<br \/>In addition to Amazon, Nokia had also filed a lawsuit against HP (formerly Hewlett-Packard) in a US court in October 2023, alleging that the company was using Nokia\u2019s video technology without permission.
