India pacer Jasprit Bumrah<\/a> has been ruled out of Mumbai Indians<\/a>‘ first home game of the Indian Premier League<\/a> (IPL) 2025 season against defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai today. The star pacer is yet to fully recover from the back injury that has sidelined him from competitive cricket since January this year.
Mumbai Indians, who have had a slow start to their campaign, are currently at the bottom of the IPL 2025 standings after losing their first two matches. However, there is still no sign of their bowling spearhead Bumrah rejoining the squad anytime soon.

Bumrah’s last competitive match was the fifth Test against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground in January 2025, where he bowled only in the first innings. He was initially named in India’s provisional Champions Trophy 2025 squad but was later replaced by Harshit Rana due to concerns over his fitness.
