Sydney Sweeney has been on a roll ever since the release of her blockbuster romantic comedy, Will Gluck\u2019s Anyone But You<\/a>, a couple of years ago. She was recently seen reuniting with her co-star Glen Powell at his sister\u2019s wedding in Texas. This comes days after she called off her wedding to Jonathan Davino, whom she\u2019s been dating since 2018.<\/p>\n

While one would suspect loss of love, sources suggest that Sydney has, in fact, put marriage plans on hold to focus on her career. \u201cShe\u2019s exactly where she wants to be. Most people would feel overwhelmed by her working schedule this year, but not Syd. She\u2019s all about working right now and very excited about all her projects,\u201d the source told People.<\/p>\n

While she was engaged to Jonathan since 2022, Sydney has been living separately for weeks now as the source confirms their relationship has been \u201crocky\u201d for some time. Sydney even deleted a picture of her and Jonathan kissing from her Instagram handle, and has been sharing pictures of herself without the engagement ring. While Sydney was seen hanging out with Glen Powell ahead of his sister Leslie\u2019s s wedding, a source told TMZ, \u201cSydney reportedly RSVP\u2019d months ago. She\u2019s been very good friends with the Powell family and has been very close with Leslie for a long time.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat did make her overwhelmed though was her relationship and her wedding. She didn\u2019t feel right about it.\u201d She is \u201cin the middle of this magical career that she could only dream of a few years ago. This is what she wants to focus on right now,\u201d said the source. Sydney realised she wasn\u2019t ready to \u201csettle down,\u201d but took so long to call off her wedding because \u201cit was hard for her to break it off. They didn\u2019t split because there is no love. They split because she just wants to focus on her career right now.\u201d Sydney will be next seen in a new season of Euphoria<\/a>, Michael Pearce\u2019s thriller Echo Valley, Paul Feig\u2019s psychological thriller The Housemaid, and a biopic of former boxer Christy Martin.<\/p>\n

Sydney has always maintained a private life and calling off her wedding is not going to be treated any differently. \u201cEveryone is always so curious about who I\u2019m with and what\u2019s that like, but I think it\u2019s important to have something for me,\u201d she told Glamour UK in a 2023 interview. The last time she discussed her relationship with Jonathan was in a 2024 interview to Glamour, referring to them as teammates, \u201cWe\u2019re in it together. And we want to see each other succeed.\u201d<\/p>\n

She also maintained that she\u2019s been looking after her finances independently and doesn\u2019t rely on her fiance for the same. \u201cI\u2019m a very successful, independent woman who\u2019s worked really hard. I\u2019ve accomplished and bought everything myself, and I provide for myself and my family. You can be in a healthy relationship with someone and also be very successful without needing the man,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n
