This time, he\u2019s stepping into the role of Doctor Doom, the new main villain. <\/span>A new theory suggests that Avengers: Doomsday isn\u2019t wiping Kang from existence; it\u2019s using him as a stepping stone for Doom\u2019s rise. And that might explain why the film\u2019s title shifted from Avengers: The Kang Dynasty to its Doom-focused rebrand.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to a ScreenRant theory, the MCU already built a clever loophole: variants don\u2019t have to look alike, though they forgot to apply the same rule with Kang. Just take Spider-Man: No Way Home, where three Peter Parkers had completely different faces. That means Marvel doesn\u2019t have to erase Kang; instead, they can just recast his variants with different actors. Quantumania already introduced the Council of Kangs, featuring endless versions of the villain. By leaning into that, Marvel not only sidesteps the Majors controversy but also keeps the multiverse concept fresh and unpredictable. Thus, instead of being limited to a single performance, Marvel could turn Kang into a multiversal force made up of various powerhouse actors.<\/span><\/p>\n

Will Doctor Doom reverse Kang\u2019s influence on the multiverse?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

A new Avengers: Doomsday theory<\/a> suggests that Doctor Doom isn\u2019t just a villain\u2014he might actually be trying to undo Kang\u2019s chaos. According to a Reddit theory, Doom wants to restore the Sacred Timeline, just like He Who Remains tried to before Loki destroyed it. Here\u2019s the twist: Doom may believe that Kang\u2019s meddling robbed him of the power he was meant to have. With both Kang the Conqueror and He Who Remains gone, the multiverse is slipping out of control. Doom sees this as his moment to take over, forming his own team of heroes and villains to restore order on his own terms.<\/span><\/p>\n

One fan theory compares Doom to The Count of Monte Cristo. Now, imagine a Tony Stark variant from another universe who made a huge mistake, they explained. \u201cMaybe he created his own Ultron.\u201d Instead of dying a hero, this Stark was betrayed and locked away by his fellow Avengers. After escaping, he gives himself a makeover as Doctor Doom, a brilliant but vengeful genius out to punish the Avengers of the main MCU timeline.<\/span><\/p>\n

How this sets up Avengers: Secret Wars<\/strong><\/h3>\n

If this theory is true, Avengers: Doomsday is laying the groundwork for Secret Wars.\u00a0 In the comics, Battleworld is a planet made from pieces of different universes, where Marvel\u2019s biggest heroes and villains fight.\u00a0 According to the theory, Doom could use the Void (the TVA\u2019s dumping ground for erased realities) to create his own version of Battleworld. If this works out, rather than Doom feeling like a last-minute replacement, he becomes a direct result of Kang\u2019s downfall. With Avengers: Doomsday hitting theaters in 2026, it\u2019ll be interesting to see if this theory holds up.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n
