Ben Affleck has finally addressed his divorce from Jennifer Lopez, months after their high-profile split. While Lopez had already shared her side of the story, Affleck sat down with <\/span>GQ<\/span><\/i> to discuss where they stand now. He also opened up about the challenges of co-parenting with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, while addressing how rumours about his \u2018private life\u2019 affect their kids. <\/span><\/p>\n

When asked about his divorce from Lopez, Affleck hesitated to go into detail, admitting, \u201cI don\u2019t want to share, that\u2019s just sort of embarrassing. It feels vulnerable.\u201d Despite months of speculation, he made it clear that their split was drama-free. Ben Affleck, 52, dismissed any speculation of \u201chidden intrigue\u201d behind the divorce. \u201cThere is no \u2018So-and-so did this\u2019 or \u2018This was the big event.\u2019 It sounds more like a couple\u2019s therapy session,\u201d he said, adding that most breakups aren\u2019t as sensational as people expect. He admitted that as he gets older, he realises relationships aren\u2019t about pinpointing one issue but rather about understanding differences. The Hollywood star also clarified that Lopez\u2019s 2024 documentary, <\/span>The Greatest Love Story Never Told<\/span>, was not the cause of their split. According to him, he participated in the project to support his ex-wife, despite their different attitudes toward public attention. \u201cMy temperament is to be a little bit more reserved and private than hers,\u201d he explained. However, he claimed that their different views on fame didn\u2019t lead to a \u201cmajor fracture\u201d in their relationship.<\/span><\/p>\n

Despite them parting ways, Affleck had nothing but praise for the \u201cJenny From the Block\u201d singer,\u00a0 stating, \u201cShe\u2019s handled celebrity more adeptly and more adroitly than I have.\u201d He acknowledged that breakups often lead to people searching for a root cause, but in their case, it was simply a matter of everyday relationship struggles. Meanwhile, Garner is already in a relationship with John Miller, whom she\u2019s reportedly planning to marry soon. Now, Affleck is opening up about the challenges of raising kids in the spotlight, recalling moments when he and Garner had to break down tabloid stories for their children. \u201cThey would see something on a supermarket stand, we would say, \u2018Well, you know, this isn\u2019t always true, because if it were, you would have 15 brothers or sisters or whatever the number of stories is where they said that your mom was pregnant,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the actor,\u00a0 he and, more importantly, his kids are well aware of what\u2019s happening in his private life. Addressing why people might be so interested in his life, Affleck told <\/span>GQ<\/span><\/i> that he doesn\u2019t put much effort into controlling his public image. \u201cI think I don\u2019t present in a very careful way.
