Since its release, the film received scathing reviews from critics and audiences alike, and both lead actors, Ibrahim and Khushi Kapoor, found themselves being targeted. Dia defended Ibrahim and said that she was concerned for him.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with the Bombay Times, Dia addresses the negativity around the film, and the attacks directed at Ibrahim and Khushi. \u201cI don\u2019t agree with targeting someone on a personal level. I understand that everyone is entitled to their opinion, but a line should be drawn if it starts to affect the mental health of the people involved. Many people, like Hansal Mehta, Vikram Bhatt and Nadaaniyan producer <a rel=\"noamphtml\" class=\"keywordtourl\" href=\"https:\/\/indianexpress.com\/about\/karan-johar\/\">Karan Johar<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/indianexpress.com\/article\/entertainment\/bollywood\/karan-johar-addresses-criticism-of-ibrahim-ali-khan-khushi-kapoors-nadaaniyan-asks-for-sensitivity-9892410\/\" class=\"\">have come to the defence of the young actors<\/a> and have pointed out that things got out of hand.<\/p>\n<p>Jugal Hansraj, who played the husband of Dia\u2019s character in the film, also gave his <a href=\"https:\/\/indianexpress.com\/article\/entertainment\/bollywood\/jugal-hansraj-slams-personal-attacks-on-ibrahim-ali-khan-khushi-kapoor-amid-nadaaniyan-criticism-its-just-being-silly-and-petty-9905134\/\" class=\"\">two cents about the situation.<\/a> He said that social media should be a platform for \u2018constructive criticism\u2019 and not \u2018personal attacks\u2019 and how things were different when we were starting out in the industry. \u201cIn the \u201980s, many actors started off new with their first films, but there was no social media, so they were given space and time to grow and improve.
