PM Modi\u2019s state visit to Thailand has been marked by a beautiful exchange of gifts that reflects his zeal for Make in India as well as features some Indian states.<\/p>\n

During his trip to Bangkok for the BIMSTEC Summit, PM Modi gifted some exquisite pieces of Indian craftsmanship to the Thai leadership, ranging from intricately designed gold-plated cufflinks<\/a> to luxurious silk shawls. <\/p>\n

These gifts were not just tokens of friendship but also represented India\u2019s rich cultural heritage, artistry, and symbolic connections to royalty, spirituality, and tradition.<\/p>\n

One of the standout gifts PM Modi presented was a pair of Gold-Plated Tiger Motif Cufflinks with Pearls to Pitaka Suksawat, the spouse of Thailand’s Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra. <\/p>\n

These cufflinks, with their intricate design and vibrant Meenakari work, are a beautiful blend of traditional Indian artistry and modern sophistication. Featuring a majestic tiger face, the cufflinks symbolise courage and leadership, traits closely associated with the majestic animal and the royal history of both India and Thailand.<\/p>\n

For the Queen of Thailand, Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana, PM Modi gifted a Brocade Silk Shawl from Uttar Pradesh. <\/p>\n

This handwoven masterpiece, made from the finest silk, features intricate motifs that depict village life, divine celebrations, and nature, reflecting India\u2019s rich tapestry of miniature and Rajasthani Pichwai art. The shawl serves as a tribute to the cultural richness of India and a gesture of respect to the Thai monarchy.<\/p>\n

Another remarkable gift was the Brass Urli with Peacock and Diya that PM Modi presented to former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra. <\/p>\n

This traditional brass piece from Andhra Pradesh symbolises purity, positivity, and abundance. Its intricate carvings and gleaming brass polish make it a timeless addition to any setting, while the diya (oil lamp) enhances its spiritual significance, often used in rituals and celebrations.<\/p>\n

Moreover, the exchange of gifts went beyond material items as PM Modi was presented with a highly symbolic gift by his Thai counterpart. <\/p>\n

Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra gifted PM Modi the holy scripture of the World Tipitaka, a sacred compilation of Lord Buddha\u2019s teachings. This scripture, first published by the Thai government in 2016 to commemorate the reign of King Bhumibol Adulyadej, holds immense religious significance, containing over nine million syllables of the Pali Tipitaka.<\/p>\n

Thanking PM Shinawatra for the precious gift, PM Modi accepted the scripture with folded hands, honouring it on behalf of “Buddha Bhoomi” India. <\/p>\n

The sacred text is part of Thailand’s effort to share peace and wisdom with the world and has been presented to over 30 countries, marking a shared spiritual connection between India and Thailand.<\/p>\n

In a more personal touch, Bangladesh\u2019s Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus presented a throwback photo to PM Modi.<\/p>\n

The photo, dating back to 2015, shows PM Modi presenting a gold medal to Yunus at the opening ceremony of the 102nd Indian Science Congress in Mumbai.<\/p>\n
