Farah Khan<\/a>, who married Shirish Kunder in 2004, recently shared the challenges of getting married into a South Indian family and spoke about navigating the cultural differences. In her latest vlog, Farah visited television star Karishma Tanna, whose husband also comes from a South Indian family. Farah recalled that when she was newly married, her mother-in-law expected her to grind spices using a traditional stone. She recalled how her mother-in-law was disappointed in her when she saw her using a mixer.<\/p>\n

While cooking with Karishma Tanna, the filmmaker shared, \u201cOnce my mother-in-law told me, grind these masalas manually, using grinding stones. Don\u2019t grind them in the mixer. I was like, \u2018Kiske paas itna time hai bhai?<\/em>\u2018 (Who has so much time?)\u201d Hearing this, Karishma expressed shock, while the actor\u2019s South Indian mother-in-law shared, \u201cThose masalas make food taste good.\u201d To which Farah quickly replied, \u201cThey taste good both ways.\u201d<\/p>\n

Previously, Farah had shared how her mother-in-law had struggled with the filmmaker\u2019s food choices. Farah, who hosts Celebrity Masterchef, recently invited Hina Khan<\/a> and her boyfriend Rocky to the show. While speaking with them, she recalled, \u201cMy mother-in-law has never cooked for me. She only brings food for her son. She gets idiyappams, coconut-based chicken, idli chutney, and all those things, but not for me.\u201d<\/p>\n

She then joked, \u201cNow, she will watch this episode and call me and say, \u2018I don\u2019t feed you my food because you don\u2019t like it.\u201d In the same episode, she said her mother-in-law might not be a fan of her famous roasted chicken. \u201cThey are Mangaloreans and need coconut in everything,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n
