Driving in Ferrari red,\u201d Hamilton wrote on his Instagram account.<\/p>\n<p><ev-engagement group-name=\"contentLogin\"\/><ev-engagement group-name=\"myNotification\"\/><\/p>\n<div class=\"ev-meter-content ie-premium-content-block\">\n<p>\u201cI still remember the feeling of taking a leap of faith into the unknown when I first joined Mercedes in 2013,\u201d he wrote. \u201cI know some people didn\u2019t understand it at the time, but I was right to make the move then and it\u2019s the feeling I have again now. I\u2019m excited to see what I can bring to this new opportunity and what we can do together,\u201d  he added.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" data-instgrm-captioned=\"\" data-instgrm-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/C24wXQjI8eS\/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loading\" data-instgrm-version=\"14\" style=\"background:#FFF;border:0;border-radius:3px;margin: 1px;max-width:540px;min-width:326px;padding:0;width:99.375%;width:-webkit-calc(100% - 2px);width:calc(100% - 2px)\">\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Hamilton is one of the most successful racers in the history of the sports winning 7 titles, six of which he won with Mercedes, most recently in 2020 before he was beaten in controversial circumstances by Max Verstappen of Red Bull at the season finale in Abu Dhabi in 2021.<\/p>\n<div class=\"osv-ad-class\" style=\"background-color: #f2f2f2;height: 375px;margin-bottom: 15px;\">\n<p>Story continues below this ad<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u201cI am more driven than ever, I am fitter and more focused than ever and I want to help Mercedes win once again,\u201d he added. \u201cI am 100% committed to the job I need to do and determined to end my partnership with the team on a high,\u201d Hamilton wrote as a tribute to Mercedes.<\/p>\n<p>On late Thursday night, Hamilton had revealed that he was joining Ferrari with a statement that read, \u201cI have had an amazing 11 years with this team and I\u2019m so proud of what we have achieved together. Mercedes has been part of my life since I was 13 years old.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a place where I have grown up, so making the decision to leave was one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make.
