Prospects diminished for potential US tariff adjustments before the midnight deadline.<br \/>Asian markets opened lower as the White House proceeded with extensive tariffs on trading partners, including a 104% duty on China, affecting risk sentiment. US Treasury yields continued upward.<br \/>The yen and Swiss franc strengthened against the dollar on Wednesday as the United States&#8217; announcement of 104% tariffs on China created uncertainty in global equity markets, pushing the Chinese yuan to unprecedented lows.<br \/>Gold prices declined on Wednesday as United States Treasury yields rose.
