Union Home Minister<\/a> Amit Shah on Wednesday said appeasement is a political tool that is venomous and we must misuse for vote bank politics while speaking at the News18 Rising Bharat Summit 2025, adding that any political ideology must be formed based on the well being of the nation, not one’s political party<\/p>\n

Talking about the Waqf Act<\/a>, Shah said, the Muslim community is not against the law. “Only a few are against it. India\u2019s Muslim women need to be included in Waqf board<\/a> and council. They should be represented. Shia, Agha, Dawoodi Bohra, Muhammadiyah and Ahmadiyya should also get a share. Congress<\/a> supports minority, but when we include minority within minority, they oppose,” said Shah, adding that Priyanka Gandhi did not vote and Rahul Gandhi<\/a> did not speak. <\/p>\n

“We had given them 50 per cent time. Is this the way you appease your vote bank? Rahul Gandhi could have spoken for all the time,” he said. <\/p>\n

Not all work is done for votes<\/h2>\n

Shah said that not all work is done for votes. “If all work was for work, big decision would not have been taken. Some work is to make wrong policies right. CAA<\/a> has been implemented for two years. I challenge Rahul Gandhi to tell me if even a single Muslim has lost their citizenship. Entire nation was filled with fear. They were responsible for the violence.”<\/p>\n

Delimitation has not yet been decided upon<\/h2>\n

Shah said that DMK is raising the issue of delimitation to hide the realities of state corruption from Tamil Nadu’s citizens. If this is put off, they will have to answer for corruption. “Act will come when it will come. There will be an all party consultation and a debate in the parliament,” said the Home Minister, adding that delimitation will be done following a pro rata method.<\/p>\n

One Nation One Election will come into effect<\/h2>\n

Shah said One Nation, One Election is a proposal in line with the well being of Indians, soon, no one will be able to argue with the logic of its introduction, adding that India will soon have the policy.<\/p>\n

\u201cDelimitation commission is formed on the basis of act.. The bill will be brought in Parliament and then it will be discussed. It might be sent to parliamentary committee. So, why the hullabaloo now?” he asked.<\/p>\n

Language row<\/h2>\n

Speaking on language row, the Home Minister said, \u201cI am not a Hindi speaker. I am a Gujarati. The opposition claims that I speak about Hindi. But I propagate Indian languages. I believe we need to preserve all Indian languages if we want to connect with our roots and history. Before our government, Congress imposed Hindi and English on students of all languages. We ensured that government exams are taken in regional languages as well. Students are studying medical and engineering in their regional languages.” <\/div>\n
