Guwahati: To ensure effective governance and better service delivery to citizens, Assam Cabinet has approved operationalisation of 10 more Co-districts by August 15, 2025.<\/p>\n

This include Boko,Chaygaon ,Teok,Palasbari \u2022 Mariani, Barchalla, Dholai, Rangapara Digboi, Makum and Dudhnoi. <\/p>\n

Assam cabinet in its meeting stated that under the Assam Cancer Care Foundation<\/a> (ACCF) 16 State-of-the-art Cancer Care centres are coming up in various parts of the State, 9 of which have already been completed.To carry forward the work on other 7 centres, Cabinet has approved financial sanction of Rs 250 crore towards ACCF. <\/p>\n

To operationalise the 4 Milk Processing units in Bokakhat, Dibrugarh, Jorhat and Bajali, Cabinet has approved handing over these infrastructures under Dairy Development Department to North East Dairy and Foods Limited<\/a> (NEDFL), a JV of Government of India and Government of Assam.<\/p>\n

To celebrate the life and times of Bharat Ratna Bhupen Hazarika<\/a>, Cabinet has approved commemoration of his 100th birth anniversary through a year-long celebration from 8 September 2025- 8 September 2026.<\/p>\n

A Member Centenary Celebration Committee headed by Chief Minister of Assam along with other distinguished personalities will be set up. Chief Ministers of all other Seven North East States will also be invited to be a part of the committee. Commemorative events will be held in Guwahati, Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Arunachal PradeshThe cabinet meeting stated one important institution will be renamed after the legendary personality.The Cabinet resolved to invite Prime Minister for the inaugural ceremony on 8th September 2025 and President of India for the culmination ceremony on 8th September, 2026.A biography of Dr Bhupen Hazarika will be released and translated in diverse languages. Documentaries on the life and legacy of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhupen Hazarika will be commissioned<\/p>\n

Cabinet also approved pursuing with the Union Government for the issuance of a commemorative coin in honour of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhupen Hazarika.
