India is gearing up for a blend of extreme weather<\/a>, with heatwaves intensifying in parts of Northwest India and Gujarat, while rainfall is expected to lash East and South India. <\/p>\n

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings for both heatwaves and rainstorms affecting various regions from April 14 to 18.<\/p>\n

Heatwave to sizzle northwest & west India
<\/h2>\n

Northwest India and Gujarat are bracing for a significant rise in temperatures over the coming days, with a 3-5\u00b0C increase in maximum temperatures expected between April 14 and 18. <\/p>\n

Delhi-NCR, in particular, will experience a gradual rise in temperatures, with maximums reaching between 38\u00b0C to 40\u00b0C on April 14, and 39\u00b0C to 41\u00b0C on April 15. <\/p>\n

Heatwave conditions are forecasted to hit Delhi starting April 16, with temperatures climbing to 40\u00b0C to 42\u00b0C.<\/p>\n

Severe heatwave conditions are likely to persist in West Rajasthan from April 14 to 18, with isolated pockets in Telangana, North Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Haryana, and East Rajasthan experiencing heatwaves from April 16 to April 19. The weather agency has also warned of high temperatures over Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh over the next few days.<\/p>\n

Rainfall forecast for eastern and southern India
<\/h2>\n

While Northwest India faces scorching heat, East and South India are in for some relief, with rainfall and thunderstorms expected to affect multiple regions from April 14 to 18. <\/p>\n

Northeast India and East India, including Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, will experience scattered to widespread rainfall, along with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds. <\/p>\n

Heavy rainfall is expected over Assam and Meghalaya between April 14 to 16, while Odisha is likely to see intense showers on April 15 and 16.<\/p>\n

The South is not immune to the downpours either. <\/p>\n

Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, North Interior Karnataka, and Telangana will witness scattered rain along with thunderstorms and gusty winds over the next five days. <\/p>\n

Isolated to scattered rainfall is also expected in Kerala, South Interior Karnataka, and Mahe during the next three days.
