While he\u2019s a jaat who hails from Haryana, she belongs to Manipur. The two had their wedding ceremony in traditional Manipuri style in Imphal, the capital city of the North-Eastern state.<\/p>\n<p>Randeep recently revealed he <a href=\"https:\/\/indianexpress.com\/article\/entertainment\/bollywood\/randeep-hooda-lost-money-fast-women-slow-horses-9448510\/\" class=\"\">never intended to marry<\/a>, but that changed after meeting Lin. \u201cI used to be very sad in school. I would think that I wouldn\u2019t like to bring another person into this world who\u2019d go through schooling like I did (laughs). So I never had the intention, but somehow our paths crossed and I\u2019m very happy that they did. I got a little late in <a href=\"https:\/\/indianexpress.com\/article\/lifestyle\/feelings\/randeep-hooda-marriage-with-lin-laishram-changed-his-life-eat-healthier-sleep-better-expert-9831321\/\" class=\"\">getting married<\/a> because I joke that I don\u2019t have a government job,\u201d said Randeep.<\/p>\n<p><ev-engagement group-name=\"contentLogin\"\/><ev-engagement group-name=\"myNotification\"\/><\/p>\n<div class=\"ev-meter-content ie-premium-content-block\">\n<p>He also opened up on Shubhankar Mishra\u2019s podcast why he chose to go to the North-East to get married. \u201cIt\u2019s also a part of our country. One doesn\u2019t really consider caste, religion, country, or age when one falls in love. We just got along and complemented each other,\u201d said Randeep. He clarified that their union wasn\u2019t free of hurdles either.<\/p>\n<div class=\"osv-ad-class\" style=\"background-color: #f2f2f2;height: 375px;margin-bottom: 15px;\">\n<p>Story continues below this ad<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u201cThere were complications. Like anyone else\u2019s, my parents also wanted that I marry within the caste. That\u2019s quite prevalent in Jaats. In fact, I\u2019m the first one from my family to marry a non-Jaat. So everybody had a problem with that, but it gradually went away. There was a problem going on in Manipur at the time of our wedding. But I thought the wedding should take place in the bride\u2019s city. In fact, him and nine members of his family who went to Manipur from Haryana stayed at an army brigadier\u2019s home. \u201cThe security escorted us everywhere. We had more security personnel than the baraatis (guests from the groom\u2019s side). There were only 10 of us because we didn\u2019t want to put too much burden on the bride\u2019s family. And since the environment was problematic, I didn\u2019t want too much fanfare,\u201d said Randeep.<\/p>\n<p>The actor added that he was overwhelmed by the love the entire country gave to him, Lin, and the Manipuri culture after his wedding pictures came out. Everyone lauded them for doing a very Hindustani-style wedding despite being in Bollywood. \u201cWe had a very simple ceremony, but it caught the people\u2019s fancy. There was no internet there. Later, we got to know that our wedding was being livestreamed. They kept meeting each other on and off, before living together during the pandemic.
