The late Irrfan Khan\u2019s son, Babil Khan<\/a><\/strong>, said that he used to attend Bollywood parties, but doesn\u2019t think that it gets aspiring actors work. He said that he has only met Karan Johar once, and that his father\u2019s connections in the film industry don\u2019t guarantee him employment. Babil said that he enjoys auditioning, because it gives him an opportunity to practice his craft. He also denied ever having said that he is struggling to get work. Babil made his debut in the film Qala, and can currently be seen in the ZEE5 thriller Logout.<\/p>\n

In an interview with The Lallantop, he was asked about not having too many friends in the industry<\/a><\/strong>, and he said, \u201cI feel like I\u2019m not a great friend. I\u2019m not able to reply to people immediately, I\u2019ve let a lot of people down. I was a great friend in school, because I\u2019d meet people personally. But I can\u2019t keep in touch with people these days. People feel bad. I don\u2019t really have friends, because I don\u2019t reach out. I have a few friends in the industry, but they\u2019re people I look up to\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking about Bollywood parties, Babil said, \u201cIn my experience, you can\u2019t get cast by attending parties. I never saw parties as a way to network with people. I go to parties to pick the brains of people I admire. Like I want to meet Karan Johar<\/a> and ask how he managed to find a place for himself in an industry that would reject people who wouldn\u2019t fit in. Like Baba; he faced so much humiliation because he couldn\u2019t fit in. I simply wanted to know Karan\u2019s story; he\u2019s so funny.\u201d<\/p>\n

Asked if he got the chance to meet Karan, Babil said sheepishly, \u201cYes, but he\u2019s so busy. But he definitely met me. He took the time out and spoke to me about my film; he hugged me. But he\u2019s a busy man; I can\u2019t impose myself on him. I tried. And I will try again. My main intention behind attending parties is to understand people, and how they are able to do what they do. Auditions are the best way to prove yourself.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n
