Are Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds really feuding? Fans think their worst fear about the Deadpool & Wolverine duo might finally be coming true after Jackman called out Reynolds<\/a> for cutting him out of a dance number\u2014and giving himself the spotlight instead. While performing at his NYC show From New York, With Love, the Hollywood A-lister, who was reminiscing about how much fun he had shooting the 2024 movie, said that although he had the \u201ctime of his life,\u201d there was just \u201cone little gripe.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Hugh Jackman takes a playful jab at Ryan Reynolds<\/strong><\/h3>\n

\u201cDon\u2019t tell Ryan\u2026 I don\u2019t need to be in every scene in the movie,\u201d Jackman\u00a0 joked while performing at Radio City Music Hall. Turns out, the one scene in the Marvel movie he wasn\u2019t in happened to be the opening dance sequence\u2014the one set to NSYNC\u2019s \u201cBye Bye Bye.\u201d According to video obtained by the <\/span>Daily Mail<\/span>,\u00a0 Jackman claims, Reynolds was behind the idea. \u201cBut Ryan is a writer. And when I see the script, I see that the scene that I\u2019m not in is the opening sequence, which is a dance number to an *NSYNC song by Ryan,\u201d Jackman said. \u201cIt stung really hard.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

He then took a cheeky jab at his co-star: \u201cI\u2019m like, the one scene I\u2019m not in has dance. Now Ryan, he\u2019s very talented, but dancing?\u201d Fans couldn\u2019t agree more\u2014for them, Hugh Jackman is a Broadway legend. <\/span>The Greatest Showman.<\/span> A scene with music and dancing should\u2019ve had him written all over it. <\/span>But, the 56 years old didn\u2019t stop there. He joked that Reynolds had to even bring in a <\/span>dance double<\/span>, Nick Pauley, who is \u201clike 25 years old.\u201d He added, \u201c<\/span>There is no way I would try and match Ryan\u2019s dance double Nick Pauley.\u201d <\/span>After giving his audience a good laugh, Jackman revealed he too brought his own secret weapon, his trainer and ex-dancer Beth Lewis, to fix the injustice done to his scene and recreate the \u201cdance that got away.\u201d Together, they performed to <\/span>NSYNC\u2019s hit and the crowd loved it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

While it doesn\u2019t look like a real beef between the two, the timing couldn\u2019t be worse. And it all circles back to Reynolds\u2019 wife, Blake Lively, who is currently embroiled in a legal back-and-forth with her It Ends With Us co-star and director Justin Baldoni. Both Reynolds and Lively have been accused of interfering with creative scenes. Back in December 2024, Lively accused Baldoni of sexual harassment and launching a smear campaign against her, among other wild claims. Baldoni filed a countersuit against Blake, Ryan, and their publicist Leslie Sloane. He accused them of defamation and extortion.<\/span><\/p>\n

Some fans think Hugh was sneakily calling Ryan out (not just for the dance number). But others brushed it off as just another pals-goofing-around moment, pointing out how Reynolds even attended Jackman\u2019s show in January. During the opening night of the event, Ryan showed\u00a0 up for a surprise Q&A (or as he called it, a \u201cHugh & A\u201d), cracking jokes and even delivering a heartfelt tribute to the Broadway legend. He called Hugh the \u201cfirst major movie star\u201d he ever worked. \u201cI love this man. He is genuinely the best human being I know. And I have four children!\u201d Reynolds said.<\/p>\n
