Seema Sajdeh, ex-wife of Sohail Khan, and Avantika Malik, ex-wife of Imran Khan, may have been divorced for a few years now, but the trauma of the legal process continues to haunt them. As if the emotional and logistical toll isn\u2019t enough, the two celebrities confessed that visiting the family court is another pain.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe way they call your name like you\u2019re at a railway station. They\u2019re yelling your name and people are looking. You feel so small, insignificant, unimportant, dispensable! I remember just felt like, \u2018Is this what this is all about? Is this what it comes down to,’\u201d said Seema. \u201cAnd when he (the judge) says, \u2018Granted,\u2019 I felt something died within me,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

In the same interview with Janice Sequeira, Avantika echoed the experience she went at the family court. \u201cThe last time I went, I remember telling my lawyer, \u2018If I ever think oh, it\u2019s a good idea to get married again, I need to remember this moment in this family court,’\u201d added Avantika.<\/p>\n

Seema, a fashion designer, married actor-filmmaker Sohail Khan in 1998 after calling off her engagement with businessman Vikram Ahuja. They had two sons \u2014 Nirvan and Yohan. Seema has been a recurring face on Netflix India\u2019s reality show The Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Lives. She and Sohail got divorced between season 1 and 2. In season 3, it was revealed that Vikram is back in her life as a boyfriend.<\/p>\n

Seema threw more light<\/a> on her divorce in the interview. \u201cThe deal-breaker actually is to see how the two of you are going through life. Life is short, live it and be happy. Laughter is the best medicine, and the day you stop laughing together, it\u2019s over. You should be able to reach a point where you like that person again. You shouldn\u2019t hate that person\u2026 You tend to get so complacent in a marriage. At that time if you\u2019d asked me, I would\u2019ve blamed everything on him,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Avantika, a mixologist, married her longtime boyfriend and actor Imran Khan<\/a> in 2011. They had a daughter, Imara, in 2014. However, they parted ways in 2019. \u201cIt\u2019s just two people growing apart, it\u2019s not the worst thing in the world. I would feel that if my marriage broke, I would die. I felt that I would not survive one day without this guy. I was convinced that I will die. The day we decided that this is it, I wept like there had been a death in the immediate family. I was petrified, because I was also not earning at that time. I\u2019m aware that I come from a lot of privilege and that I will not be on the road,\u201d Avantika said<\/a> in the interview.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n
