Bollywood actor Nushrratt Bharuccha<\/a><\/strong>, who as an outsider made a mark in the film industry with her performances, recently spoke about how she manages her wealth in a fickle profession where her next job isn\u2019t guaranteed. During the conversation, she admitted to being \u2018scared\u2019 as she is the sole breadwinner of the family. She spoke about the financial hardships she faced during her college years and how she would only survive on water.<\/p>\n

Speaking about how she keeps herself on a tight budget<\/a> even today, she told Bollywood Bubble, \u201cVery early on, I had decided how much I would spend in a month, my basic needs and everything that is left after that is automatically sent to investments and savings. The money never comes to my account. The accountants are instructed to send the money to the wealth manager to invest it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Talking about how the responsibilities of her parents keep her on her toes, she explained that she is always \u201cscared\u201d. \u201cI am scared because my father is close to 70, my mom is 62 and my grandmother is 92 and they are all on me. I need to have the backup, the pool of money required when, god forbid, something happens.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, this financial discipline isn\u2019t something new for Nushrratt<\/a><\/strong>. Growing up she had seen her parents face a financial crisis and had herself gone through a tough time. Explaining why she has always been conscious of spending money, she said, \u201cI have made my world small. When I would travel to Jai Hind College from Juhu\u2026my dad was facing financial difficulty at that time, after he got cheated in his business. So, I was conscious of not spending his money. 90 percent of my college life, I went five years to that college, I used to only spend Rs 8 per day and that was spent on travel. I would take the train and then the bus to college, attend classes, and would come back home.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added, \u201cThe only thing in Jai Hindi college which was free was water so whenever I would feel hungry, I would drink water. And it wasn\u2019t that my father wouldn\u2019t give me money but it was my consciousness.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nushrratt also recalled that once during an outing with friends, while everyone ordered food, she stopped herself from doing that to save money. \u201cNobody knew that I was hungry, I only had water there also. But I told myself that there will be a day when I would live life without seeing the price tag,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n
