Sunaina Roshan, sister of actor Hrithik Roshan<\/a><\/strong>, has previously spoken about her struggles with alcoholism<\/a><\/strong>. In a recent interview, Sunaina recalled her \u201chorrific\u201d experience at the rehabilitation center where she spent 28 days. Sunaina said that she knew that she had to get herself better after she couldn\u2019t remember what she had done the night before.<\/span><\/p>\n

Calling that experience a \u201cnightmare\u201d, Sunaina told Showsha, \u201cI don\u2019t know what a normal rehab looks like, but this was a 28-day course where they used to grill you and grill you. <\/span>We had no other option but just to sit. At the rehab, someone was telling me that something was wrong with my family back then so I couldn\u2019t even concentrate on what they were counselling me about. It was one of the toughest things I have done, to go to a rehab.\u201d Sunaina recalled the intensely regimented routine: waking up at 5:30 AM, breakfast by 6, followed by meditation <\/span>and rigorous counselling sessions. She was denied cell phones and wasn\u2019t allowed to consume any sugar, chocolate or caffeine.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sunaina said that she was angry at herself during this phase and even though her parents tried their best to help her, she knew that nothing would work until she went to a rehab. \u201cThere was anger within me for myself that I have to get rid of this habit. All that they did for me \u2013 putting up bodyguards, taking away my money, cash. And then one fine day, I just sat my parents down. I didn\u2019t like myself in that phase at all. I sat them down and told them \u2018find me a good rehab\u2019. I want to go, I want to get treated,\u201d she said,<\/p>\n

When asked how she came to this decision for herself, Sunaina recalled, \u201cThere were days when I\u2019d forget what I did the previous night and that was scary. In the night after drinking my alcohol, when I used to sleep, I used to get up in the morning and I was a blank page. And that\u2019s when I decided I have to go as soon as possible and get myself treated.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Sunaina said that she \u201chated the sight of me\u201d and \u201cdidn\u2019t like myself\u201d during this phase but, her resilience pushed her to get better. \u201cI have always been a fighter, always been the strongest person so that\u2019s what made me take the decision that I have to go and come out of it,\u201d she said and added that one\u2019s real test begins once they are out of the rehab center. Sunaina described this as one of the toughest things she has ever done.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n
