NEW DELHI: Former India captain Sourav Ganguly has strongly backed the call to sever ties with Pakistan in the wake of the devastating terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed 26 lives on Tuesday.
Speaking to ANI, Ganguly did not mince words, asserting that terrorism<\/a> must be dealt with firmly.

“100 per cent, this (breaking ties with Pakistan) should be done. Strict action is necessary. It is no joke that such things happen every year. Terrorism cannot be tolerated,” Ganguly said, echoing the growing sentiment across the country.<\/p>\n

The deadly attack, which primarily targeted tourists, has been claimed by The Resistance Front (TRF), a proxy group linked to the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba. It marks the deadliest incident in the Valley since the 2019 Pulwama attack.

On Wednesday, the BCCI<\/a> released a statement condemning the “ghastly and cowardly” act and paid tribute to the victims during IPL 2025‘s match 41 between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians. No celebratory elements \u2014 cheerleaders, music, or fireworks \u2014 were included in the matchday experience.
