West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee<\/a> on Saturday announced a compensation package of Rs 10 lakh each for the families of three state residents killed in the recent Pahalgam terror attack<\/a>, as well as for the family of an Army havildar who died in an encounter in Udhampur.The TMC supremo outlined that Bitan Adhikary<\/a>\u2019s family will receive Rs 5 lakh for his wife and Rs 5 lakh for his parents, along with a Rs 10,000 monthly pension for his elderly parents. A Swasthya Sathi health card has also been issued for the family, while families of the other two victims from Behala and Purulia will each receive Rs 10 lakh.<\/p>\n

“The government has announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the families of those who lost their lives in the terror attack. I talked to the parents of Bitan Adhikary. Swasthya Sathi Card<\/a> has been made for Bitan’s parents, and they will be given a pension of Rs 10k per month as they are very old. Rs 5 lakhs will be given to Bitan’s parents, and Rs 5 lakhs to Bitan’s wife. Rs 10 lakhs each will be given to the other two victims’ families in Behala and Purulia,” she said.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, for Havildar Jhantu Ali Shaikh’s family from Nadia district, the CM announced Rs 10 lakh compensation and a government job for his wife.<\/p>\n

Moreover, she said that anyone among the affected families seeking employment would be supported by the state government. She also plans to visit Murshidabad to personally hand over compensation to three more families.<\/p>\n
