Tens of millions of people on the Iberian Peninsula had their Mondays upended by power outages that lasted hours.<\/p>\n

Across Spain and Portugal, hospitals ran on generators, trains were halted and supermarkets were shuttered. By Monday evening, some power was restored in parts of Spain, but many residents were still waiting for their lights to turn back on. The authorities raced to find and repair the issue while there was still daylight.<\/p>\n
