There is no doubt that Aamir Khan\u2019s PK is one of the best films in ace director Rajkumar Hirani\u2019s filmography. Written by Rajkumar and Abhijat Joshi, the film was about an alien who finds himself in India, and is confused about the various religious, caste, and societal differences that question the essence of humanity. Interestingly, two years prior to the release of PK, another film captured the nation\u2019s imagination and dealt with a similar setting. It was Umesh Shukla\u2019s OMG, which was headlined by Paresh Rawal.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Interestingly, the film was based on the Gujarati play, Kanji Virudh Kanji, and Paresh, in an interview with The Lallantop, revealed that Abhijat and Rajkumar were present in multiple showings of the play. \u201cIt was around the time PK was happening, Saumya Joshi, a brilliant Gujarati writer, was accompanied by his brother Abhijat and Raju Hirani. They were there f0r almost every show. You see, we used to incorporate newer angles in every show,\u201d said Paresh.<\/p>\n

Reasoning out why they were there at every show, Paresh said that everytime they would work on their script, the play would undergo certain improvisations, and team PK had to return to ensure they made notes of what was being said to not say the same. \u201cAny new dialogue, they came and checked. Both are very good people, despite staying with Vidhu Vinod Chopra for so long,\u201d said Paresh, who explained why he felt rather dismissive about the 12th Fail director.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe is someone who started ignoring the people he started off with, especially after becoming big in his career,\u201d said Paresh, who also revealed that he was almost cast in Munna Bhai MBBS in the role, which was made memorable by Boman Irani. \u201cI was supposed to do Munna Bhai. We were discussing remuneration, and in my head, I wanted Rs 15 lakhs. Vidhu also offered the same number, but the way he said \u2018I\u2019ll give you 15\u2019 miffed me. I asked for Rs 50 lakhs, and decided to not budge from my want just to not take arrogance from anyone,\u201d said the National award-winning actor, who went on to play the same role in Chiranjeevi\u2019s Shankar Dada MBBS, the Telugu version of Munna Bhai MBBS. He also played a pivotal role in Sanju, which was backed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra.<\/p>\n

Pointing out that it wasn\u2019t a question of money, but manners, Paresh<\/strong><\/a> said, \u201cArtistes are built differently. If you place a hand on my shoulders, and ask nicely, I will do a film for even one rupee. But, if you throw around attitude, I won\u2019t accept a role even if I\u2019m paid in crores.\u201d<\/p>\n

Paresh, who was last seen in the film, The Storyteller, has an interesting lineup of releases, including Housefull 5, Bhoot Bangla, Thama, and Hera Pheri 3.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n
