Pakistan\u2019s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif<\/a> has asked United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres to \u201ccounsel India\u201d to “act responsibly” and “show restraint”, following a deadly terror attack in Kashmir.In a statement released by Sharif\u2019s office on Tuesday, he said Pakistan would \u201cdefend its sovereignty and territorial integrity with full force in case of any misadventure by India.\u201d <\/p>\n

He also rejected India\u2019s statement linking Pakistan to the April 22 attack<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The terror strike near Pahalgam<\/a> town in Jammu and Kashmir killed 26 people, mostly tourists, and has been called the deadliest in the region since the Pulwama attack<\/a> in 2019.<\/p>\n

India, holding Pakistan-based terror groups<\/a> responsible for the massacre, has announced a number of strong measures. These include expelling Pakistani military attach\u00e9s, suspending the Indus Waters Treaty<\/a> of 1960, and immediately closing the Attari land transit point on the India-Pakistan border.<\/p>\n
