Madhuri Dixit married Dr Shriram Nene in 1999, and moved to the US to be with him.<\/a> <\/strong>Madhuri took a break from her acting career and joined Shriram as she tried to live an anonymous life in the US. Dr Nene, who was a practicing heart surgeon at the time, was pulling long hours at the hospital, and thus, he would never get enough time to take care of himself. In an earlier chat, Dr Nene said that sometimes,<\/a><\/strong> he was saving his patients\u2019 lives at the cost of his own health.<\/p>\n

In a chat shared on INKtalks\u2019 YouTube channel, Dr Nene was asked about daily health practices and he spoke about his \u201cprevious avatar as a heart surgeon.\u201d He said, \u201cHabituation, rigourous discipline, focus, all of these things make a huge difference in what you do and honestly, in my previous avatar as a heart surgeon, it wasn\u2019t really possible most of the time because they were calling me to emergency at 3 am.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dr Nene said that he worked long and difficult hours, there was no time dedicated to taking care of his own health. \u201cI\u2019d save lives, my wife would ask \u2018how are they doing?\u2019 And I would be like \u2018they did great\u2019. She would ask \u2018how are you doing?\u2019 I would say \u2018I saved another life at the expense of my own\u2019. That was a sad thing but the point is you have to establish a routine,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

In an earlier video shared on Dr Nene\u2019s YouTube channel, Madhuri recalled the time<\/a><\/strong> when he would work long hours and shared, \u201cWhen we got married, you were doing your residency in Florida. It was like calls every other day. And I remember, I wouldn\u2019t see you for days. You were working sleepless nights, and by the time you\u2019d come home, you would be so tired, you wouldn\u2019t even eat your dinner. You would just collapse.\u201d Madhuri and Dr Nene have been married for 26 years and are parents to two sons \u2013 Arin and Ryan.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n
