A day after Patanjali Ayurved issued public advertisements apologising for going against the Supreme Court’s orders, the top court turned its attention to other organisations in the country issuing misleading advertisements and taking citizens of India “for a ride.”
“Now we are looking at everything. We are looking at children, babies, women, and no one can be taken for a ride and the Union government must wake up to this,” the court said.<\/p>\n

The court also asked Baba Ramdev<\/a> and Acharya Balkrishna to issue additional advertisements tendering a public apology. “These ads should be collated and filed within two days,” SC said in its order.<\/p>\n

SC pulls up IMA<\/h2>\n

Additionally, the SC also pulled up the Indian Medical Association<\/a>, the party that filed the original petition, and said that while it is pointing fingers at Patanjali, four fingers are pointing at them.<\/p>\n

\u201cYour doctors also endorsing medicines in the allopathic field. If that’s happening, why should we not turn the beam at you?,\u201d the apex court asked IMA.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe IMA needs to put its own house in order regarding alleged unethical acts of the petitioner organisation where medicines are prescribed which is expensive and unnecessary,\u201d SC said. \u201cWhenever there is a misuse of the position by the petitioner association to prescribe expensive medicines and the line of treatment needs closer examination,\u201d the bench added.The SC clarified that we it was not gunning for any particular agency. “This is a PIL. It is in interest of public. This is part of process of rule of law,” the bench said.<\/div>\n
