The United States Chamber of Commerce\u2019s US-India Business Council<\/a> (USIBC) on Thursday convened its first Artificial Intelligence (AI) Task Force, which met virtually to discuss cross-sector collaboration<\/a> in the context of AI’s growing prominence. Meta<\/a> was named co-chair of the task force.
USIBC also announced that Infosys<\/a>, UPS and BNY Mellon joined its AI Board Advisory Committee. \u201cThis expansion aims to strengthen USIBC\u2019s efforts in driving collaboration and innovation in the rapidly evolving field of AI by relying on the top business talent in America and India,\u201d it said in a statement.<\/p>\n

USIBC president ambassador Atul Keshap said the leadership and expertise of committee members \u201cwill play a crucial role in shaping our strategic approach to AI, enabling us to navigate the challenges and opportunities across various sectors such as business, biotechnology, healthcare, logistics, and technology.\u201d<\/p>\n

USIBC added that the goal of the AI task force<\/a> is to align and drive US and Indian leadership in the AI ecosystem, promote common AI concepts and principles within national and multi-stakeholder processes, and ensure competitiveness of the countries\u2019 industries to develop, leverage, and commercialise AI technologies for the benefit of each country\u2019s democratic citizenries.<\/p>\n

The meeting brought together industry leaders from advanced technology sectors like logistics, semiconductor design and manufacturing, commercial electronics, biotechnology, telecommunications, space, defence, information technology, and financial services.<\/p>\n
