Guwahati: Army<\/a> officers, led by Eastern Command<\/a> chief Lt. Gen R.C. Tiwari<\/a>, met Manipur Governor<\/a> Anusuiya Uikey on Thursday to discuss the security situation in the state, which has been affected by ethnic violence<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A Raj Bhavan official<\/a> stated that the Army officials<\/a> highlighted the security preparedness of the Army and Assam Rifles<\/a> to handle any contingencies in the state. They also emphasized various measures undertaken to ensure the safety of the populace.<\/p>\n

The Army officials mentioned the relief activities<\/a> initiated to aid displaced families across different parts of the state. Additionally, they informed the Governor that the Army is committed to preserving peace and stability in the northeastern region<\/a>, especially in Manipur.<\/p>\n

The Governor commended the efforts of the Army and Assam Rifles and urged them to provide full support to the administration in restoring complete peace and tranquility in the state.<\/div>\n
