An aeronautical engineer<\/a> employed with a Hyderabad firm<\/a> specializing in manufacturing missile and drone components was arrested from Bharuch in Gujarat on charges of allegedly spying for a Pakistani intelligence agency, according to a report by The Times of India (TOI).<\/p>\n

Pravin Mishra, a resident of Ankleshwar town in Bharuch district and originally from Muzaffarpur, Bihar, is accused of gathering confidential information<\/a> about the Indian armed forces<\/a> and defence-related research and development<\/a> (R&D) firms and passing it on to Pakistan, as reported by TOI.<\/p>\n

The Arrest and Accusations<\/strong>
Pravin Mishra’s arrest was a result of a broader investigation into a potential espionage network involving officers and employees in the criminal conspiracy. Military Intelligence had alerted the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) about the possible involvement of current or retired armed forces personnel, individuals associated with missile system development, and employees of organizations like the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO<\/a>) and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) in leaking confidential information.<\/p>\n

Alleged Espionage Activities<\/strong>
Authorities suspect that Mishra’s association with a Hyderabad firm engaged in manufacturing missile and drone parts played a crucial role in his alleged espionage activities. It is alleged that Mishra disclosed technical details<\/a> about missiles and drones after falling victim to a honey trap, where someone using the fake identity of “Garg” and claiming to be an Indian woman, extracted information from him.<\/p>\n

According to TOI, officials said Mishra’s arrest was a significant development in the investigation. The report quotes officials as stating, “The case is sensitive as it pertains to national security.
