The Delhi High Court<\/a> on Friday issued a notice to the Enforcement Directorate<\/a> (ED) on a bail plea<\/a> moved by BRS<\/a> leader K Kavitha<\/a>, asking the central agency to respond on the money laundering case<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma listed the matter for further hearing on May 24.<\/p>\n

The BRS leader<\/a> has challenged the trial court’s May 6 order which dismissed her bail application in the excise policy<\/a> case. The trial court had also rejected her bail plea in the corruption case<\/a> lodged by the CBI<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The alleged scam<\/a> pertains to accusations of corruption and money laundering in formulating and executing the Delhi government’s excise policy for 2021-22 that was later scrapped. Kavitha is in judicial custody in the two cases lodged by the CBI and the ED, respectively.<\/p>\n

The ED arrested Kavitha (46) from her Banjara Hills residence in Hyderabad on March 15. The CBI arrested the Bharat Rashtra Samithi<\/a> (BRS) leader when she was already under judicial custody in the ED case.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
