Soon after duststrom hit the financial capital of India, nearly 15 flights on Monday were diverted owing to the weather conditions<\/a> in Mumbai. Due to the inclement weather and dust storms in the city, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) temporarily suspended flight operations for around 66 minutes due to low visibility and gusty winds. “Operations resumed at 17:03 hrs. During this time, the airport witnessed 15 diversions,” said Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) in the statement. <\/p>\n

Mumbai experienced a dust storm<\/a> and rain showers<\/a> on Monday evening. Following the initial dust storm, rain was reported in Thane<\/a> and Navi Mumbai<\/a>. A dust storm occurred near Mantralay. <\/p>\n

Owing to poor visibilty, a few arrival flights into Mumbai had been diverted. Aviation weather report issued earlier showed a 55 kmph wind from east\/north east direction, with gusts going up to 75 kmph. Passengers booked on evening\/night departures out of Mumbai can expect major delays.<\/p>\n
