According to an official, the <a data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/definition\/ip-address\" rel=\"noopener\">IP address<\/a> of these emails has been traced to <a data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/topic\/budapest\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Budapest<\/a> and Delhi Police will soon be contacting its counterpart in <a data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/topic\/hungary\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hungary<\/a> for further investigation. <\/p>\n<p><!--\/article_liveblog.cms?msid=107107653potime:1--> The IP (internet protocol) address is a unique identifying number assigned to every device connected to the internet. <\/p>\n<p> The mail purportedly sent from a <a data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/topic\/mail-ru\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mail.ru<\/a> server claimed that <a data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/topic\/explosives\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">explosives<\/a> were planted on the school premises, triggering massive evacuations and searches as panic-stricken parents rushed to pick up their children on May 1. <\/p>\n<p> The threat that sent alarm bells ringing in the security establishment was later declared as a <a data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/topic\/hoax\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hoax<\/a> as nothing objectionable was found from the school campuses. <\/p>\n<p>The police, after filing an FIR into the case, had written to the mailing service company &#8216;mail.ru&#8217; based in Russia via <a data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/topic\/interpol\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Interpol<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p> The police were investigating the IP address used to send the e-mails, besides the sender and origin of the mail to decipher the conspiracy and motive behind the bomb hoax that resulted in panic across Delhi-NCR on Wednesday.
