Clive Myrie and Laura Kuenssberg will lead the BBC’s election night coverage, the corporation has announced.<\/b><\/p>\n

They jointly replace previous election night anchor Huw Edwards, who left the BBC in April. <\/a><\/p>\n

Kuenssberg, who fronts a Sunday morning politics show on BBC One, will become the corporation’s first female election night anchor.<\/p>\n

She will co-host with Myrie, who presents BBC News bulletins as well as quiz show Mastermind.<\/p>\n

The pair will be assisted by the BBC’s political editor Chris Mason.<\/p>\n

Nick Robinson and Rachel Burden will host the radio coverage with Henry Zeffman on BBC Radio 4 and 5 Live.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Myrie and Kuenssberg will be joined by several BBC News presenters for election night.<\/p>\n

Reeta Chakrabarti<\/b> will be analysing the results as they come in, and be based in the London studio with the pair. <\/p>\n

Jeremy Vine<\/b> \u2013 and the famous swingometer \u2013 will be broadcasting from Cardiff, Kirsty Wark<\/b> from Glasgow, and Andrea Catherwood<\/b> from Belfast. <\/p>\n

Professor Sir John Curtice,<\/b> will also be on hand throughout the night to offer knowledge and insight.<\/p>\n

Fiona Bruce, Victoria Derbyshire, Naga Munchetty, Nick Watt, <\/b>and Alex Forsyth<\/b> will be among the BBC presenters and correspondents reporting from key locations around the country.<\/p>\n

Sophie Raworth<\/b> and Jon Kay <\/b>will take over presenting duties on Friday morning, with deputy political editor Vicki Young<\/b> alongside them as the shape of the country\u2019s new political map becomes clearer, the BBC said.<\/p>\n

Dedicated TV results programmes in Scotland<\/a>, Northern Ireland, and Wales will be hosted by Martin Geissler, Mark Carruthers,<\/b> and Nick Servini.<\/b><\/p>\n

Rachel Burden <\/b>and Nick Robinson <\/b>will host live election night radio coverage on BBC Radio 4 through to the Today programme the following morning, with BBC Radio 5 Live joining for a simulcast from midnight.<\/p>\n

The BBC confirmed the line-up on Tuesday ahead of the general election on 4 July.<\/p>\n

Deborah Turness, the CEO of BBC News, praised the “truly fantastic line-up of journalistic talent”.<\/p>\n

“Headed by Laura and Clive,” Turness said the team “will bring voters the results and help make sense of them”. <\/p>\n

“We\u2019ve assembled a fresh, dynamic team to bring insight, experience – and perhaps a little wit \u2013 to audiences for the whole election night and beyond.”<\/p>\n

The corporation also confirmed it has invited the leaders of the seven biggest political parties to participate in televised debates.<\/p>\n

The election night was previously only presented by one anchor – with Edwards taking over from David Dimbleby for the 2019 election.<\/p>\n

But Edwards was suspended from the BBC in July last year following newspaper reports claiming he paid a young person for sexually explicit images.<\/p>\n

He has not been on air since, and in April it was announced he was leaving the BBC after taking medical advice from his doctors. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
