Khalid has been booked under the stringent Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). He has been behind bars since September 2020 waiting for his trial under the <a data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/topic\/uapa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UAPA<\/a> for his alleged involvement in a larger conspiracy leading to Delhi riots in February 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Additional Sessions Judge in <a data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/topic\/karkardooma-court\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Karkardooma Court<\/a>, Sameer Bajpai rejected the second regular bail plea filed by Khalid. The second bail plea was filed by Khalid after he withdrew his plea seeking bail from the <a data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/topic\/supreme-court\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Supreme Court<\/a>. He has challenged the <a data-ga-onclick=\"Inarticle articleshow link click#News#href\" href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/topic\/delhi-high-court\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Delhi High Court<\/a> decision of denying him bail in October 2022.
