Sedemac Mechatronics<\/a>, a deep-tech enterprise founded by Professor Shashikanth Suryanarayanan<\/a> and his students in a lab at IIT Bombay<\/a> in 2007-08, has announced a $100 million transaction led by Xponentia<\/a> Capital Partners, A91 Partners<\/a> and 360 ONE Asset<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The investment<\/a> led to the full exit of the company\u2019s first institutional investor Nexus Venture Partners<\/a>, TR Capital<\/a> and Montane Ventures<\/a>, said a press statement.<\/p>\n

The transaction will also lead to an infusion of $9 million into the company at an equity valuation of $260 million.<\/p>\n

Sedemac supplies millions of controllers<\/a> each year from its facilities in Pune<\/a> to the 2 & 3-wheeler (ICE & EV), Generator and e-Bike markets, it said.<\/p>\n

Shashikanth Suryanarayanan said, \u201cSedemac has established itself as a rare company from India<\/a> with the gumption and ability to continually develop fresh, globally relevant technologies that see widespread use. The Rs75 crore investment into the company would help establish a new manufacturing
plant and provide further financial cushion towards pursuit of significant growth prospects in India, the US, and the EU.\u201d<\/p>\n
