The Southwest Monsoon<\/a> has already set in over Kerala<\/a> ahead of schedule and advanced into most parts of northeast India. This monsoon<\/a> onset has covered Kerala, Mahe, and the entire regions of Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, and most parts of Tripura, Meghalaya, and Assam. Typically, the monsoon sets in over Kerala by June 1 and advances into northeast India<\/a> by June 5. This year, it arrived in Kerala two days early and in northeast India six days ahead of schedule. And for the next one week, rains have been forecast for Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad. <\/p>\n

In Karnataka, the monsoon’s arrival has also been advanced. According to India Meteorological Department<\/a> (IMD) officials, the monsoon will reach Karnataka<\/a> on June 2, earlier than the previously anticipated June 5-6 date. IMD<\/a> has issued a forecast for one week of rain and thunderstorms across Karnataka, predicting moderate showers with gusty winds of 30-40 km\/h across south-interior Karnataka, including Bengaluru. The state capital is expected to experience cloudy skies with occasional light to moderate rainfall<\/a>. for the next one week. <\/p>\n
