The National Investigation Agency (NIA<\/a>) on Monday has filed chargesheet<\/a> against 17 individuals alleged of being hardcore agents of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) for a conspiracy involving recruitment<\/a> and and radicalisation<\/a> of youth<\/a> and fabrication<\/a> of improvised explosive devices (IED<\/a>) in the Delhi-Padgha ISIS terror module<\/a> case. As many as 15 of the 17 belong to Maharashtra<\/a> and one each from Uttarakhand and Haryana<\/a>, said the agency in a press release. <\/p>\n

The accused have been chargesheeted under various sections of IPC, UA(P) Act, Arms Act and Explosive Substances Act. They were found to have been engaged in a massive ISIS<\/a> conspiracy involving recruitment, training and propagation of the ISIS ideology among youth. They are also accused of fabrication of explosives and IEDs, and fund-raising for the banned outfit.<\/p>\n

NIA had registered the case RC-29\/2023\/NIA\/DLI in November 2023. The investigation had led to the seizure of several incriminating documents and data relating to manufacturing of explosives and fabrication of IEDs, along with propaganda magazines like \u2018Voice of Hind\u2019, \u2018Rumiyah\u2019, \u2018Khilafat\u2019, and \u2018Dabiq\u2019 published by IS.<\/p>\n

The investigations further found that the accused had been sharing digital files related to IED fabrication with their contacts. They were also found to be raising funds to expand their terror plans as part of ISIS agenda in India. <\/p>\n

The accused had carried out several acts, including recruitment of youth into the organisation. They had taken \u2018bayath\u2019 (pledge of allegiance) from an arrested accused Saquib Nachan, a habitual offender in many previous terror cases and a self-styled Amir-e-Hind for ISIS in India.NIA is further investigating the case to trace more links of the accused persons.<\/div>\n
