A recent LinkedIn post by HSBC<\/a> employee Nitika Kumari<\/a> has sparked widespread discussion about workplace toxicity<\/a>. Kumari, who has been with HSBC’s Hyderabad branch<\/a> for over a year, shared her experiences with panic attacks<\/a> and mental health challenges<\/a> caused by a toxic work environment<\/a>. Currently serving her notice period, she detailed several incidents that contributed to her decision to leave.<\/p>\n

‘Ek Chamaat Maarenge, Bihar Pahunch Jaogi’<\/h2>\n

Kumari recounted an incident on April 22, 2024, where a colleague made an ethnically insensitive remark. She quoted the colleague saying, “EK CHAMAAT MAARENGE, BIHAR PAHUCH JAOGI,” translating to “I will slap you so hard, you will go back to Bihar.” Despite reporting this to her manager, no action was taken. In a subsequent team meeting, she was told to dismiss the comment as a “hatred comment.”<\/p>\n
